Please use the following information to assist with completing the NSCSLLT Application for Partial Funding of a Conservation Project.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

I. Applicant Information<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Qualified applicants are charitable nature conservation land trusts recognized under Nova Scotia\u2019s Conservation Easements Act \u2013 Designation of Eligible Bodies Regulations<\/a>. The lands secured must be stewarded to a high conservation standard; at least equivalent to IUCN I, II, or III criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

II. Property Information<\/span><\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To help keep conservation affordable, the NSCSLLT will not purchase properties for more than 5% above their appraised fair market value. This policy ensures that our support for land conservation does not unintentionally drive-up property prices and make future conservation efforts more costly.

For clarity, a \u201cproperty\u201d refers to a single tract of land, or several of them, being acquired from a single vendor, with all transactions closing on a specific date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conservation Area \u2013 Identify if the property lies within an area recognized as an ecological priority, e.gs. Rich and\/or rare in biodiversity; watershed protecting aquatic habitat, in a relatively intact natural state.

Acquisition Type \u2013 \u201cConsent to protected area designation\u201d \u2013 falls under either the Nova Scotia Special Places Protection Act or the Wilderness Area Protection Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
